Ok you need to define what the "hospital" genre is... for example the conventions. Look at other texts such as casualty or holby city and see what common traits they have, and compare the differces to Scrubs.
Look at genre as a whole, the definition, there was a quote on how genre needs to change or it loses its' effectiveness. Dont just find another internet link.
As you're saying that it has more of a comic effect. Look at what the humour is based on, this might be linked to representations ( eg women)
Get some book research dude!!
