Media Language:
The show manages to escape from being labelled a sitcom as it is a single camera show. It does though borrow elements from sitcoms such as having little stories within every different episode.
Institution:
Created by a company named "Doozer"
Genre:
Hybrid Genre. The main genre apparent throughout is comedy, but there also are elements of a sitcom genre as there happens to be mini episodes within an episode.
Representation:
There are many different representation in Scrubs which constantly contrast each other depending on the episode. There are different representations such as the way females are represented as weak and as sex objects, but then other female characters defy this stereotype as they are strong willed and in control.
In other episodes there have also been issues to do with the way black people are represented but again certain characters defy the stereotype.
Audience:
Scrubs is usually broadcasted on Paramount Comedy, E4, and ABC1. The new series though come first to E4 and Paramount Comedy and there shows start at 8pm usually so therefore I would assume that the show is aimed at an older audience as they would be home for the show. (That is assuming that most people work 9-5 shifts.) It also would be likely to be aimed at a more wealthier audience as the people who work within the hospital are mostly high paid. The show would also be of interest to doctors and nurses as they could possibly relate to the show and create a sense of personal identity or have a personal relationship.
Ideology and Values:
Narrative:
The main narrative apparent throughout is following the lives of certain people who work in the hospital. Also showing their social lives and everything they do in order for the audience possibly to be able to familiarise themselves with the characters

I'm afraid I agree with your peers, Athar - you need to do a lot more work! Where are your dictionary words, your de-li-cious link research and your comments on others' blogs? You still haven't refined your thesis, either - remember that you need to have something to SAY about your chosen text.
